What & Why?

Vagally-mediated heart rate variability (HRV) is a significant predictor of health and disease. The vagus nerve is arguably the most important nerve in the human body, regulating/overseeing bodily survival functions, psychological safety and emotional affect regulation, and cognitive/executive function.

Backed by 20 years of clinical studies, HRV biofeedback (HRV-BF) is a noninvasive and effective means of enhancing vagal function, and thus improving health, performance, and emotional well-being. Controlled clinical trials for HRV-BF demonstrate efficacy for anxiety, depression, sleep, cardiac rehab, hypertension, asthma, mindfulness, fibromyalgia, functional abdominal pain, chronic muscle pain.  Additionally, hundreds of studies correlate low vagal tone with heart disease, stroke, diabetes, depression, chronic fatigue, and many other auto-immune and inflammatory disorders.
